What we collect

Quote details you submit: price, ZIP code, system type and specs, what the quote includes, and whether your system is down.
Your email — only if you give it, and only so we can send you the comparison updates you asked for.
The quote document — only if you attach it (photo, screenshot, or PDF).
Basic technical info with each submission: browser type and country. We do not collect names, addresses, or phone numbers, and we don't ask for them.

How it's used

Quote data is aggregated and anonymized to power comparisons — medians, ranges, and sample sizes for an area. Individual submissions are never displayed publicly.
ZIP codes are used to group quotes by area and are only ever shown in aggregate (a metro or region, never your ZIP).
Attached quote documents are used to verify submissions. They are stored privately and are not publicly accessible. If we ever display any part of a quote document publicly (for example, as an anonymized example), personal details — names, addresses, phone numbers — are removed first.
Emails are used exclusively for the updates you requested. Every email includes a working unsubscribe. No newsletters you didn't ask for, no "partner offers," nothing else.

What we never do

We never sell or share your information with contractors, lead-generation companies, marketers, or anyone else. Your submission will not cause a single phone call, email, or knock on your door.
We never publish anything that could identify you or your home.
We never use your quote document for anything other than verification and anonymized aggregation.

Cookies & analytics

No tracking cookies. The site sets none.
If your submission can't reach our server, it's kept in your own browser's local storage so you still get your comparison — that data stays on your device.
Site analytics, when enabled, use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookie-less system that counts visits without identifying or profiling you.

Your data, your call

Want your submission, email, or attachment deleted? Email hello@quotating.com with roughly when you submitted and the ZIP code you used, and we'll remove it.

This site is operated in the United States. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it — and the "what we never do" section is not the part that will ever change.
